It’s Valentine’s Day and whether you are planning a romantic date with your sweetheart or a fun and festive party with family and friends it is a time for a celebration.  I love Valentine’s Day.  I love the cards, I love the pink hearts and I love the festive food choices.  However, I don’t like the long waits at restaurants.  So, I have three suggestions for festive Valentine’s Day meals that can you can easily make at home for your special Valentine.

  1. Keller’s Heart Shaped Delmonico or Rib Eye.  These heart shaped steaks are the perfect way to say I love you and to treat yourself and your Valentine.  They are large enough to serve two.  Delmonico and Rib Eyes are packed full of delicious flavor.  They are my favorite type of steaks by far.  These steaks are great on the grill, (grilling tips can be found at ) or they can be cooked on the stove top, in the oven, or on the broiler.  I love to season mine with Jane’s Krazy Mixed Up Salt, or with garlic, salt and pepper and cook them in the oven.  I almost always serve them with baked potatoes and garlic green beans.
  2. Heart Shaped Pasta with Meatballs. This is a Valentine’s Day favorite at my house.  Keller’s carries beautiful heart shaped pasta that is perfect for Valentine’s Day.  I serve it with my homemade meatballs.  My family loves my meatballs and they are very easy to make.  I get compliments on them every time I serve them.  Here is the recipe:

Step 1.  Mix 2# Keller’s Italian Sausage.  (I use Hot Italian because we like the extra spice but they are also delicious with the Sweet Italian or the Turkey Italian) 1 Keller’s Extra Large Egg and ¼ cup of breadcrumbs in a bowl.

Step 2.  Roll the mixture into meatball size balls and place on a baking sheet

Step 3.  Bake at 325 degrees until fully cooked (usually about 20-30 minutes depending on the size of your meatballs.

Step 4.  Serve with two jars of Keller’s Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce or Keller’s Classic Marinara Sauce.  (I usually use one jar of each so that the sauce is spicy but not too overwhelming.)

  1. Keller’s Fresh Seafood.  This week Keller’s has huge savings on seafood.  You can save $5 per pound on USA Wild Scallops, Large King Crab Legs, Salmon, Extra Large Easy Peel Shrimp and Lobster.  With so many delicious choices there is no need to go out for a fancy meal when you can have one in the comfort of your own home.  For another great option, pair one of our seafood choices with our heart shaped steak for a surf and turf.

No matter what you plan to do for Valentine’s Day, Keller’s has the ingredients for the perfect meal for you and your Valentine.  What are your Valentine’s Day dinner plans?  Comment below and let me know.
